Reports To: Sales Head / Business Development Manager


Job Summary

The Retail Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales, managing retail operations, and ensuring customer satisfaction in textile retail outlets. The role involves developing sales strategies, supervising the retail team, and achieving revenue targets while maintaining brand standards.


Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Achieve sales targets and profitability for assigned retail stores/outlets.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase footfall and revenue.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Manage product display, visual merchandising, and promotional activities.

Retail Operations

  • Oversee daily retail operations including inventory, billing, and customer service.
  • Ensure proper stock management, timely replenishment, and minimum wastage.
  • Coordinate with warehouse/production for stock availability and timely deliveries.
  • Maintain hygiene, layout, and store ambiance as per brand guidelines.

Team Management

  • Recruit, train, and supervise retail sales staff.
  • Allocate sales targets and monitor performance of team members.
  • Motivate and guide the team to ensure excellent customer service and sales achievement.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Ensure high standards of customer satisfaction and complaint resolution.
  • Build long-term relationships with key customers and walk-in clients.
  • Collect customer feedback for continuous improvement in products and services.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly sales reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing, and discount structures.
  • Monitor cash handling, billing accuracy, and store security.

Performance Metrics (KPIs)

  • Achievement of monthly/quarterly sales targets.
  • Customer satisfaction and retention rate.
  • Staff performance and turnover rate.
  • Inventory management accuracy and shrinkage control.
  • Effective execution of promotions and merchandising.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 4–7 years of retail sales experience, preferably in textiles/apparel/home furnishings.
  • Strong knowledge of textile products, fabrics, and customer buying behavior.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability in team management and sales target achievement.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and retail POS systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced retail environment.
