Job Description

Job Title: School Librarian

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced School Librarian to manage our school library. The librarian will organize resources, support students and faculty in accessing information, and foster a culture of reading and research aligned with the CBSE curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily library operations, including cataloging, circulation, and inventory control.
  • Assist students and staff in locating and using library materials effectively.
  • Develop and implement library services and programs that support the curriculum.
  • Maintain an organized and welcoming library environment conducive to learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate information literacy into classroom instruction.
  • Oversee acquisition, processing, and weeding of library materials.
  • Promote library events, reading programs, and digital literacy initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with CBSE guidelines and copyright laws.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in school library management, preferably in a CBSE school.
  • B.Lib (Bachelor of Library & Information Science) and M.Lib (Master of Library & Information Science) Degrees. Compulsory
  • Proficiency in library cataloging systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with digital library resources, e-books, and online databases.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a school team.
