Job Description

? Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in overall operation and maintenance of the co-generation power plant attached to the sugar plant.
  • Supervise electrical systems including generators, transformers, switchgear, MCC panels, relays, protection systems, and HT/LT distribution.
  • Coordinate daily power generation activities ensuring safe, stable, and efficient plant operation.
  • Monitor plant parameters related to high-pressure boilers (87 kg/cm²) and turbines in coordination with mechanical and boiler teams.
  • Ensure synchronization of power generation with sugar plant load requirements.
  • Assist the Co-Generation Manager in shift planning, manpower supervision, and task allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, and electrical norms.
  • Handle breakdowns, fault analysis, and corrective / preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain operational logs, reports, and daily performance records.
  • Coordinate with instrumentation, boiler, turbine, and WTP teams for smooth plant operation.
  • Support shutdown activities, inspections, and commissioning works as required.

? Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–8 years of hands-on experience in sugar plant co-generation power plants only.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems in co-gen plants.
  • Experience working with high-pressure boilers (87 kg/cm² or similar).
  • Familiarity with turbine-generator operations in sugar industry.
  • Good understanding of plant safety practices and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to lead teams and coordinate with multiple departments.
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.

  • Prior experience in sugar industry co-generation projects is mandatory.
  • Exposure to power plant operation, maintenance & troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Willingness to work in shifts if required.
