Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of traditional Indian dishes such as curries, tandoori items, biryanis, and vegetarian dishes.
  • Follow recipes and adjust based on customer preferences or dietary requirements.
  • Ensure the quality, taste, and presentation of all dishes meet restaurant standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, following food safety regulations.
  • Manage inventory, including ordering ingredients and supplies as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal service.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared according to health and safety regulations.
  • Keep track of food wastage and minimize it by properly storing ingredients and utilizing them efficiently.
  • Assist in menu planning and the development of new dishes.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful relationship with team members.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Indian cook or chef, with at least [X] years in an Indian kitchen.
  • Knowledge of Indian cooking techniques, spices, and regional dishes.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to handle kitchen equipment and tools efficiently.
  • Flexibility with working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Creativity in developing new Indian recipes and presentation styles.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in handling Tandoor ovens and other traditional Indian cooking equipment.
  • Culinary certification or training from a recognized institution (optional).
